What an epic day! Lightning Ridge has so much more to offer than we ever could have imagined!
We started the day off by checking out the local Sunday markets. They might be small, but geez, are they mighty! Lots of local talent, friendly faces and great food!
After checking out the markets, we sussed out the local jewellery shops and tourist info centre, picking up some info on local attractions and a customary 'been there, done that' Tshirt.
Once the important business of Dan finding shiny stuff to bring home was over, we headed back for lunch and a rest, followed by the all important afternoon beer.
We decided to check out the local bowls club and have a feed, we were not disappointed. The snittys we got... are without doubt the best and biggest we've ever had! They took up half the plate!
We also had the pleasure of meeting a fellow vet and his family.
Lightning Ridge has definitely made an impact on us in such a short time. It's quirks and beauty are something that need to be seen to be believed.
